Honest opinion: brewing club on resume

I'm working towards trying to land either an accounting job at a Big 4 (financial services), or some kind of Equity Research/Financial Analyst gig when I graduate. Non-target, 3.9 GPA, accounting/finance degree. So far I've been trying to land a summer internship, but since my school is a smaller state school, not very people come looking for potential candidates (except smaller firms).

I've been working on networking from what I have as far as faculty and alumni, but I'm also trying to improve my leadership experiences (an area I'm lacking). Obviously I could go the normal finance/accounting club leadership route, but I have no interest in running one of those clubs. Which leads me to either 1) join a different club I have no interest in, or 2) start a new club.

So, I'm thinking about starting a brewing club. Besides the obvious logistics (state and local laws, school admin), I think it's a club I could get started very easily and get a lot of support from the student body. The state has a high per capita brewery industry (I think #2 in the nation), several local breweries, and a ton of drinking age students. If someone was sifting through a stack of resumes and saw "Founder and President of XXX Brewer's Society", would that be interesting enough to edge out some other clubs/interests? Or should I just gun for the boring, Finance/Accounting leadership role.

In all honesty I may start the club regardless, but from a resume, job-seeking standpoint would that make me stand out at all (and not look unprofessional)?

I have homebrewing on mine.

You're born, you take shit. You get out in the world, you take more shit. You climb a little higher, you take less shit. Till one day you're up in the rarefied atmosphere and you've forgotten what shit even looks like. Welcome to the layer cake, son.

hahahaha. Everyone loves guzzling down some Natty Lights but that doesn't mean the finance bros reading your rez will be excited to see you're openly admitting in a professional context to devoting all your free time to it. Maybe you can also be Founder and President of the Adult Film Creation Society. That would certainly raise a few eyebrows.

what made you think that that's the case? brewing beer really doesn't take that much time.

I'd imagine that creating Adult films really doesn't take that much time either. I guess if you're a perfectionist and want to get the lighting just right, it might take more time to make adjustments. And sometimes you might have to do a few retakes. But even still, shouldn't take too long.
