How easy is it to get away with lying about volunteering/extracurricular?
I'm making up a volunteering experience to pump up my resume. If banks are gonna be pretentious and petty enough to pick applicants based on stupid factors then I'm happy to play their game.
I paid for a years membership at my university for some charity society but I only turned up to one event because I got my GPA to think about. If I was to lie about being involved in a project, will employers actually check to see if this is true?
The society is entirely run by students, so the university won't actually be able to answer any questions if employers were to get in contact with them.
- Do employers check to see if extra-curricular claims are valid?
- If so, how often?
