IBD in Citi vs Barcap vs CS?
I'm deciding between offers at each. In terms of culture, exit opps, experience, etc. how would you rate the summer analyst program at each for IBD? Not sure which group I'll be in at each.

Assuming that this is in the us, I would say:
Citi or CS for culture Barcap or CS for prestige Citi for dealflow though it's heavily dependant on the group
why do people consider citi a lower BB? on all league tables they are around 3-5. is their IBD group larger than other groups so the per capita deals are less?
I think they are referring to their current bad rep in the media, other than that they are top BB
Top? never heard that
Because people are dumb and give in to populous, media BS. Those clients who are actually on the front-lines and know the business realize Citi IBD is still very strong, as evident by their deal flow/league tables.
They are still good, but morale there sucks.
yeah don't understand why citi gets so much shit given their standing in not only worldwide but US league tables...
I agree with the above posts regarding citi.
It is all about closing deals.
go with Citi - best overall experience.
I have an offer on the table from Citi (did they give everyone on this board a job?). The office I interviewed at seemed pretty up tight culture wise. Also, I did a linked check on Citi analysts in PE, one in a megafund after MBA, and maybe a dozen or so in shops I hadn't heard of. What's the consensus on coverage groups that do their own M&A (I know Citi has a specific M&A group, but this office said they do their own)?
bump
in terms of money, i think Barcap offers the most, followed by citi.
but in terms of exposure (specifically for US), Citi and CS is way to go.
Citi for all of its bad rep, still has a strong deal flow due to its network and relationships. but of course things will change if their dealmakers start leaving.
Base pay's the same across most banks. CS and Citi both pay overtime, Barcap doesn't to my knowledge.
paid overtime..you on drugs?!
Yes for Summer Analyst positions.
yes i can confirm there is overtime for citi
yep overtime for Citi, I just got my offer package..thats what it states.
Hey, I've got a Citi IBD Summer interview on Tuesday (EMEA London).
Since All you guys seem to have Citi offers, I thought I'd ask:
Did they ask you about specific deals in Interview - If so what level of detail? Any other Info on Citi deals would be useful - I'm looking everywhere but can't find specifics.
Thanks!
