In a unique (bad) situation
For context, I graduated this year from a super target school (Oxbridge/LSE), narrowly missing a 2.1.
I've been not given a return from my SA at a top EB (EVR/LAZ/CVP). My feedback was fairly positive throughout, but I was told at the end I was in the "maybe" pile, so to not bank on a return.
I think I'm in a weird situation where all the names on my CV are great, so the expectation is that getting interviews should be fine. But I'm worried the combination of 1) the grade 2) the no return and 3) the fact I've already graduated (no real desire to do a masters) makes me a bit of a red flag candidate.
I really enjoyed IB and would want to pursue an analyst role at another bank. I started fixing up my CV as soon as I got off the phone and will be sending applications off imminently.
Is this a lost cause? If not, what would you be doing in my shoes?
