Investment Research/Analyst Jobs where most of work is independent/minimal human interaction

Hello all,

Recent graduate here looking to get your thoughts on an investment job involving mostly (or all) independent work (e.g. conducting research, updating models on Excel, writing research reports). I understand that many finance positions involve heavy interaction with others but wanted to hear all your thoughts in case something slipped me. Some of my my key strengths/things I love: Writing, research, math, investments.

Also, while this may come across as strange to some of you, I do NOT care a whole a lot about salary. To elaborate, I place a far stronger emphasis on comfort and career satisfaction over salary; I would be perfectly fine with making $45-50K if I could do the above (e.g. conducting research, updating models on Excel, writing research reports) and would select this option over a $125K position that is stressful and "people-intensive."

**Also, I plan on working in Orange County, CA, so any company recommendations would be appreciated as well. **Constructive comments only please. Thank you!

Thanks so much for the reply! I have actually sent a general app. to Pacific Life and am interested in their asset management arm.

Do you have any personal experience/insights into the titles and what a typical day might be for people in the investments division of Pacific Life or other insurance companies?

Also, do you happen to know of any smaller investment shops/boutiques that might offer junior-level analyst roles that are heavy in independent financial modeling or research?

Thanks!

"fomo120" Any other thoughts? Thanks!

You might have to seek opportunities in LA as well.
