Job Search in Capital Market at NYC

My job strategy as follows: Search jobs for finance and accounting using (indeed.com, efinancialcareer.com, careerbank.com), where I send my resume and cover letter for that particular job.

Also, I have a database of over 1000 firms of investment banking and hedge funds for NYC/CT, where I have their company's website, address, email address of their HR and sometimes email address of the senior level managers. I basically research the firm and selectively apply either through their company website or sometimes need to email the HR. After that try to connect with senior level managers to have better chance for an interview through Linkedin.

In addition, my resume is viewed in craigslist, google search and linkedin as forms of communication so more people can view my resume via my Visual CV resume. Also I tried contacting Head-hunters but still no luck.

Lot of my friend tell me networking, networking and networking, but my personal experience is that if you don't work in the field long enough, linkedin and social network will not work cause the key is knowing somebody and why will somebody help you or give a time of the day if you don't know him or her.

I even tried emailing my alumuni, they have helped me regarding send my resume to the HR at which firm they work and provided me head-hunter contact information, but still no luck. I guess my strategy is not working cause job market is very tough especially in finance at NYC. What shocks me there soo many jobs that I know that I am qualified yet they never call me such as equity reseach requires very little experience. I strictly looking for entry or junior level position. Can somebody give me some suggestion, cause I have been out of work over 10 months. I am looking for any analyst role in due diligence, advisory, research, investment management or investment types of role for entry or junior level.

Here is my Visual CV resume and an ad I placed in craigslist

Hope to get some insightful advice from somebody, again sorry for this long message

Regards, Atish
