Messed up gpa and still recruiting

Hey wanted some advice as a rising junior at a target notorious for being difficult. I took a ton of credits this semester while recruiting and to be frank some of the classes were insanely hard. I may have dropped my 3.8 below a 3.0 and I don't have any offers yet. How best to deal with this situation? I am working in ER at a boutique this summer but I'm guessing MBA or IB is out of the question? Still networking extremely hard at the firms still open.

If SA and FT recruiting don't pan out, you could try to get the GPA back up as close to a 3.4 or 3.5 as possible and try for a Mfin. Schools like WashU have an average GPA of 3.4 and a 670 GMAT. Study well and get a 730 on the GMAT and you should still be competitive for a program like Vandy, especially if you go to Cornell or UChicago.

If your boutique is decent and not some tiny shop, and they offer for you to stay on FT that would probably be better than paying the 60k for a 1-year MFIN. And a 3.6 won't raise to many questions from those schools for lateralling since everyone knows they are tough. Also don't rule out FT if you can get close to a 3.2 or 3.3 after your junior year.

For Bschool apps, if by Bschool you mean MBA you need a few years of work experience and your GPA matters less by then and your are still close to average (Wharton Average is a 3.6). If you mean a Masters in Finance which is what is open to new graduates without work experience, then your GPA will be competitive for most programs if you have a solid GMAT.
