Moving from Corporate Finance in Non-Financial Firm to Treasury or Regulatory associate position in Financial Firm

Hi,

I'm curious if anyone has experience going from corporate finance in a non-financial firm to working in a financial firm, preferably in a Treasury, Risk, or Regulatory function. I'm trying to make the move now, but am struggling since I only have a summer (internship 5 years ago) of financial services experience. I've been working in corporate finance in non-financial firms for 4 years (graduated in 2010), and have been eyeing a move to a financial firm, preferably a bank, because I'm very interested in what the ALM desk and Treasury does, as well as the new regulatory framework in the US, specifically DFAST and interfacing with the Fed.

I have an undergrad in Finance and concentration in Investments and am about to sit for my CFA Level I. I've been doing a ton of self-study about the new regulatory apparatus, following current events, and submitting resumes. But I just don't have a resume that jumps out since I don't have the typical financial services career path. What did you do, or what would anyone recommend, to alleviate this deficiency and make one pop out and get a chance to interview?
