New and just looking to expand my knowledge
Very interested in working on Wall St when i get out college. I'm about to start my first year of College, unfortunately not at an Ivy League school or top 25 school. Its unfortunate considering i didn't get interest in a Wall St career until my late Junior year of High School which at that point i didn't take school serious enough my first two years which would of helped me get into a bigger named school and there's no way my parents and I can afford a $50k a year college. Now i am in the process of getting my degree and considering my MBA at UCF or USF. Not top 25 schools, but everyone knows these schools around the country. I'm stuck between pursuing a career in Investment Banking or as a Stock Broker. Any tips would help. As i stated earlier in the paragraph I am not attending a top 25 school, but my goal and plan is to work on Wall St. I have the drive, ambition, and dedication, but could always use more help on things i can do before hand to give me a better leg in when competing against others going for the job(s). Let me start off by suggesting that you focus on your college experience rather than your MBA. I think you are getting a little ahead of the track.
Keep your grades up as high as possible, get involved in campus, network with alumni & faculty, and you will be fine. You can even attempt transferring to a more '''''prestigious''''' college if you are performing really well for your first/second year.
As for knowledge, just read read read, write down, remember, memorize, learn how to apply concepts, etc..
