Post-MBA Career Fields with good work-life balance

I am currently transitioning out of the military after completing my contract as an officer and will be attending a MBA program overseas in the fall, with the goal of working in that region. Before I get on campus, I'm trying to get a better handle on where I should focus my job search efforts.

I have an undergrad degree in humanities subjects and consider myself a career switcher. Personally I don't aspire to make a ton of money but would rather have a good work-life balance with most of my weekends off and the ability to support myself. Thus, while I considered pursuing a career in IB, the notorious hours in the field have put me off a bit. I simply can't see myself working those types of hours and still being happy.

Prior to joining the military, I had one year experience in the marketing field and I was considering pursuing a career in marketing post-MBA. Can anyone shed some light on the typical work schedule of MBA grads in that field and career progression/exit opportunities?

Thank you in advance for your help

Depending on the company, corporate development / strategy roles can be a coin toss. I worked in a F500 corporate development role that was IB-like in hours, but half the pay. Imagine that.

Most I know in marketing have it pretty good to be honest. 9-5 most of the time, The ones who really care probably work until 7? Regardless, you're still home by dinner kind of deal.

Rotational roles can be something to consider too. Like a leadership development program. Those can have good hours and good visibility within the company.
