Re-networking

For those of you who have cold-emailed people while networking: Is there any shame in reaching out twice if they (politely) said thanks but no thanks a while back? As an example, the CIO at one buy-side firm to which I reached out told me they haven't launched their (most relevant fund for my background) yet but I'd be a good fit if they did need to expand. Six months later, they have actually launched. Is there any tactful way to handle this? For what it's worth, I'm in NYC and they're in Boston, close to my home, so was thinking about replying to their email that I'd be in town, but don't want to embarrass myself.
