Recruiting for FT 2023 at this stage

I have a summer internship coming up in a data science role this summer but am looking to turn back to finance full-time after my internship. I spent a summer last year working at a strong MM bank in their tech practice and really loved it and got a return but decided not to return due to location reasons. Seeking advice on how I should go about recruiting for full time next year given my weird situation.

I'm aware that full-time recruiting for IB is kind of a mess due to many simply hiring from their summers and there's not a lot of PE firms that recruit FT so any advice on what I should do? Currently, my daily practices right now has been to spend some time every day reading up on trends in the tech / software space (as that's my main industry interest), refreshing on finance material since it's been a while since I touched it, practicing casing material, and just trying to speak with people at different firms to gauge what's going on and see if there's any FT openings. Would appreciate any feedback on my approach and other things I should be doing. Thanks.
