Recruiting in SEA IB (non SG)

There's a lot of information about IB in Southeast Asia, but from my research it seems very Singapore centric. From my research, it looks like there's a lot of lateral hiring and the recruiting at the top domestic universities would go to domestic banks instead of BBs and other foreign banks. Most of the people that go to IB actually come from the buy side. I was wondering if anyone has any information about how to recruit for IB, culture, the basics in general really for other non SG SEA countries (think Malaysia/Indonesia/Thailand).

Edit: Should clarify that I'm interested in the process for analysts

Can speak for Malaysia since I'm from KL.

Very regional deals, sub $100m usually. Big names compete with local ones like Affin Hwang Capital etc. Hours around 70 per week, at least based on my contacts. Have heard conflicting info about pay, but RM 5k per month on the low end and RM 10k on the high end for analysts. 

Would definitely recommend going to SG if possible (I love KL and how affordable it is compared to SG, but let's face it, your life isn't going to as good as getting LDN/NYC comp in SG)
