Should I attend Diversity Events???

I'm a sophomore at a non-target and gotten so many emails from firms telling me about their diversity "insight" days with accelerated recruiting for next summer.

I'm a pacific islander and most of the flyers say like "women" or "LGBTQ" or "Black/native american". Should I apply to attend these events anyway considering I may or may not be considered as diversity?

Diversity events are huge timeline accelerators for a lot of firms... From what I've heard you don't have much to lose just by applying. I know some people who were definitely NOT diversity who attended and got their applications expedited.

This isn't official advice, but how would a Native Pacific Islander not be considered similar to a Native American for the purposes of D&I initiatives?

Be excellent to each other, and party on, dudes.
