Should I be happy to be in my position right now?

Hi Guys,

Currently working in sales at a startup. The product is great and is in great demand for alot of people, so it is super easy to sell. The money is good I think?. It is very chill and the manager is laid back as well.

However, I graduated from a top uni so I am expecting to get alot more "prestige". Also, I am interested in computer science so want to transition into tech. Probably will self learn everything and start applying once I have decent projects.

Am I in a lucky position?

I was in a similar position to yours. I went to a good university and got my first job at a small, niche consulting firm that was definitely not prestigious. But it was a good first job for me, and now I'm finishing up grad school and looking more at finance.

It's good to be grateful for your job and to still try to improve your skills and look for better options. Your current employer doesn't expect you to stay there forever.

Hey Richard, I actually finished grad school last year. Went straight for my masters after my bachelors so was lacking alot in work experience. I think with my school, it is target school for alot of large investment firms and it aligns well with my major (Risk Management). Just have been super addicted to learning computer science for the past couple months. Would love to connect and chat more with you if possible. Thanks!
