Summer 2025 internships, will they give any more offers before the fall recruiting period?

Not talking ab IB roles, but like roles like commercial banking, corp treasury, risk management. I'm trying to recruit for these roles and trying to lock down an offer before my junior year starts, just to alleviate some stress and have an option.

I also plan to party a lot in the fall and would rather get my internship search done asap, anyone know how often firms give offers in june / july / early august? Or any advice would b appreciated

Based on previous WSO threads, here's what you need to know about securing summer internships in roles like commercial banking, corporate treasury, and risk management before the fall recruiting period:

  1. Recruiting Timeline:

    • June - July: This period is generally used for networking and initial application submissions. It's a good time to attend firm events, get email addresses, and reach out on LinkedIn. Networking is crucial, so make sure to impress with thoughtful questions about the firm and their work.
    • August - September: This is when most applications are submitted. Firms often have deadlines in mid to late September, so it's important to have your applications ready by then.
  2. Networking:

    • Use firm events to gather contacts and follow up with them. Networking can significantly increase your chances of getting an offer.
    • Reach out to mutual acquaintances or use LinkedIn to connect with professionals in your desired field.
  3. Application Strategy:

    • Even if cover letters are not always read, it's advisable to submit them unless explicitly told otherwise during application workshops.
    • Apply to multiple firms to increase your chances of securing an offer.
  4. Offer Timelines:

    • Offers can be extended at various times, but many firms finalize their decisions by September. Some firms may give offers in June, July, or early August, but this can vary widely.
    • Keep in mind that the recruiting timeline can be unpredictable, and it's essential to stay flexible and open to different timelines.
  5. Advice for Securing Offers:

    • Start networking and applying as early as possible to increase your chances of getting an offer before the fall.
    • Focus on building strong relationships with professionals in your target firms.
    • Be proactive in following up on applications and networking contacts.

By following these steps, you can increase your chances of securing a summer internship before your junior year starts, allowing you to alleviate stress and enjoy your fall semester.

Yes, banking is different in the sense that they recruit extremely early, so if you weren’t able to land an internship, you still have plenty of chances. Even consulting, which goes pretty early too, hasn’t finished. For the “normal” roles you stated, I’d expect for them to continue recruiting through early next spring - depending on company of course.
