Target School, Non-Target Major (Neuroscience) - Interest in breaking into MC, Banking, Finance more generally

Hello everyone, I appreciate you reading this. I'm a neuro major senior at an Ivy with 3.5+ GPA, involved in business-based clubs and organizations but did research throughout college so I'm lacking internships. I am looking into pharma as a stepping stone into the consulting/financial world, but other than that am at a loss for how to get near any of these positions without getting dismissed immediately. I have strong interpersonal skills (initially wanted to do psychiatry) and a pretty strong understanding of economics (my research has been focused on a field known as "neuroeconomics", really interesting stuff), which is why I'm interested in these kinds of positions.

I feel like I'm pretty screwed in terms of chances once I realized how much work I should've been doing this whole time had I known I wanted to start this kind of career. Is there any hope for getting my foot in the door? Have you heard any success stories from anyone in a position similar to mine? If there is a path available, I'm entirely willing to devote all my energy to realizing it.

Thank you in advance.

You should have gotten an internship this past summer. You still probably have a shot at consulting. Trading pairs well with psychology. You might have to intern after graduation. I’d just get your resume out to thousands of places. It’s gonna be a lot of forms you have to fill out so get your coffee ready.

Your best bet is likely your alum network. Reach out and sell yourself on why they should take a chance on you. Finding alum who are hiring managers is key
