Virtual Interview in Finance - forgot my tie...

Will I be cooked

First round interview with analyst, wear proper suit/shirt but my tie disappeared and didn't have it on

Don't know how bad would the impression be... though I had I my technicals correct...

I've gotten offers not wearing ties at very brand name places so its not an auto ding

 

Honestly, that’s such a lazy thing to do and shows lack of professionalism and attention to detail. Despite what may get thrown around on weirdo forums like reddit, attire matters. First impressions matter. Hell, I had this one MD who was utterly obsessed with The Smurfs, and if he was having a bad day, he would ding kids if their tie was the wrong shade of blue. It’s so competitive out there you can’t make a single mistake.
