Honestly, that’s such a lazy thing to do and shows lack of professionalism and attention to detail. Despite what may get thrown around on weirdo forums like reddit, attire matters. First impressions matter. Hell, I had this one MD who was utterly obsessed with The Smurfs, and if he was having a bad day, he would ding kids if their tie was the wrong shade of blue. It’s so competitive out there you can’t make a single mistake.
Can confirm you have to pass the SAT (Smurfs Attire Test) each day by wearing a Smurfs related garment.

Agree with this, IMO suit with tie and suit with no tie doesn’t make a difference, especially if it was virtual. During my time in banking it was rare to see anyone wearing a tie, even in client meetings
