Ways to compensate for low gpa
Is getting the cfa and getting 90th percentile a good way to compensate for a low gpa ? (Basically trying to show that I could’ve gotten good grades if i worked for it, and the gpa isn’t too low its 3.5) A lot of bankers in my country get the cfa and most associate positions list it as a good to have so it obviously won’t be looked down upon.
The CFA takes 3 years at least, no? That wouldn't do anything to help you now.

This is not the selling point you think it is. They’ll be wondering why you didn’t work for it.
Thank you. Any other suggestions how i could portray it better, basically trying to show i fucked up and i am trying to fix it. And I’ve a few friends who completed it in 18 months so it’s doable
Whenever I’ve seen a minimum GPA in an IB job listing, it has been 3.5. So I’d do everything you can to keep it from getting any lower, and ideally raise it.
whatever you do, avoid crafting some half-baked sob story about why your grades were low. These are a dime a dozen. Much better to just own it. 3.5 isn’t even bad, imo.
Thank you for your advice. Also i have a 760 GMAT, can i list it on my CV as people treat it like a good achievement, gave it now so I don’t have to bother before my mba and can get in earlier and defer admissions
I have heard a high GMAT score can help if you have a low gpa. GMAT score does show some reflection of intellect and ability in various topics. I am hoping that after uni and a few years of working to take GMAT and attend an mba
