What if I get fucked?

I am a senior in highschool in the middle of my college application process. Due to unfortunate circumstances, I was extremely unmotivated in my earlier years of high school, which has dragged my GPA down and even though I have maintained a good GPA with rigorous classes this year and last. If I do not get into a target or semi target, what should I do? I have a love for math and finance and feel that I’d enjoy a career in public markets. Though, I have a feeling this admissions cycle might not work out in my favor and would greatly appreciate advice on what to do if that happens. Thanks.

Change your mindset and take on some personal responsibility. A career in public markets isn’t for you if you have low responsibility and self motivation. What happens if you get fucked? You mean the consequences of your own actions? If you’re worried about what school you get into determining your career you need to have a hard look at yourself.
