Worth transferring to upper semi target after already getting internship offer?

For background, I'm a year ahead for undergrad, entering my 2nd year of school as a junior.I spent the first year at a local nontarget, needed to stay home for some serious and sudden health reasona (turned down an OOS target school because of the situation).Somehow, I ended up getting a top BB CIB offer for Summer 2023 this past April, and then a couple months ago I got accepted as a transfer at an in state semi target school. At first, I was super excited to have been accepted to the semi target. I hate my current school, no social life and the fact that it's a non target, so it will be looked down upon for my entire career. But that excitement about transferring has quickly evaporated for some reason, and now I'm on the fence if it's even worth really leaving.I don't plan on getting my MBA (but things could always change), will it hurt me to stay at my nontarget instead of transferring? Cost isn't an issue, it's just much more convenient for me to stay. And at this point, I don't need the resources of a target or semi target considering I have an offer I am very happy with. How bad will it hurt me to stay where I am? It's just tough because I don't really like my current school, it's boring and looked down upon. And while the transfer school is great, well known, and definitely more fun (not a huge factor), I feel so skeptical now. I feel like I'm not gaining or losing much in either case.I've had a lot of difficulty with trying to navigate around this, so any advice is extremely appreciated. Thank you in advance

One other thing I didn’t mention is that the transfer school is in a shithole overrated city. Feel like I could probably deal with that though, not sure

I think the biggest thing to focus on is the fact that you just genuinely don't enjoy being at your current school. If you loved it and were having the time of your life, then I'd argue against transferring as you already have a great internship in-hand. But you don't like it, and it sounds like, prestige/brand aside, the semi-target is also just more fun. College should be enjoyed, I think it makes sense to transfer.

I agree, but at the same time I’m not totally sure I’d enjoy the transfer school.

Yes, social life would 100x better and more enjoyable overall, but I’m not sure I would really like living over there, the city is overhyped. I feel like it’s either stay here and be semi unhappy (not totally miserable) or transfer and mayne enjoy it but hate the place.

My biggest concern by far with staying where I am at currently is if the nontarget name on my resume will forever hold me back vs having the semi target name (pretty big target for in state jobs though)

You can't make this decision today, but give serious thought to how opposed (or not) you are to business school. Law/MBA programs are great equalizers - that credential goes at the top of the "Education" section of your resume/LinkedIn profile, and sets you apart (way apart) from candidates with only a bachelor's degree from your or a similar school.

If you are completely hostile to the idea of getting an MBA, think harder about transferring. But I'd say a good MBA program is worth it. A lot of people in their 20s think 2 years spent in school / not making $ is an eternity and a fortune in opportunity cost, but over a 30+ year career, it isn't.

It’s mainly because I’m worried about the impact of the non target vs target name on my resume for the rest of my career, in the likely scenario I don’t go back for my MBA.

No problems. Once you do ~2+ years of full time work your school becomes a total nonissue. Most people move school to the very bottom of their resume, maybe 2-3 lines, once they have a few years of work experience, because the work is far more important than whatever school you went to.

Go find some good private debt shops, go on LinkedIn, and see where their associates and VPs went to school. Guarantee you'll find a decent number of totally random non targets. School prestige is just not a big deal beyond landing that very first job.
