Would a Minor Help?

Hello, I'm trying to get into F500 corporate finance upon graduation and I'm wondering if a minor in Finance would help at all. I'm currently majoring in Economics (specialization in Quantitative Analysis) with a 3.5 GPA at a non-target. Most Corp Fin jobs I've seen are primarily looking for Finance and Accounting majors, but I've seen a few that would consider Econ majors.

My question is, would taking a minor in Finance make me a better candidate or would they not care because it's just a minor. It's too late for me to take a double major or change majors at this point, and I feel like Finance would be a better option than Accounting for a minor because I'd be able to maintain a much higher GPA.

Thanks!

What year are you? I have completed 3 years of undergrad as a finance major, and the difference from econ can be stark especially with most finance majors understanding accounting. Try to minor or even just take come upper level finance and accounting as electives. My experiences in econ were good but nothing like my finance coursework, which I feel has prepared me well for QA.
