Young professionals that seek to provide career advice to the general public are very annoying
Recently I've been coming across profiles of early-mid 20 something year olds creating blogs to document their career journey for the public. It's an effort to try and provide advice to others. It always starts with some cringe af LinkedIn post too. I feel like these people are the worst, it's extremely annoying. It's one thing to provide personal mentorship to those seeking your advice, but stop trying to market yourself as someone that has meaningful advice others should listen to. What the f makes you of all people so special when you're so young in your own career and still figuring things out. People want, or atleast should want, public advice from those that are on the other side of settling and career advancement. To clarify, I don't think it's a bad idea for young professionals to provide advice and mentorship to other young professionals, but doing it so publicly is just a cringe, annoying look.
The brain drain, masturbatory horn tooting, and overall cringe of LinkedIn is unlike anything else I’ve ever seen. SaaS sales bros, “(Name), MBA/CFP”, and “Thrilled to announce I have been selected for (BS diversity event with a 97% acceptance rate)” are repeat offenders.
People that post multiple times per month on LinkedIn usually are completely devoid of self-awareness.
