AMA: CVP AN2

I have wanted to do this for a while.

For context: nearly 2 years of experience, work in the NY office, and am extreme diversity hire (LGBTQUDKFJD+-069420, woman, bipoc, paraplegic, autistic, vision impaired, retarded, have only one testicle, etc.).

Happy to answer any questions on interviews/ prep to get in (i.e. how to fake diversity seeing as cvp gobbles that up), the nature of the work (i.e. how to align logos bc i cant handle anything else)

Based on the most helpful WSO content, here are some insights that might be useful for your questions:

Interview Preparation and Getting In

  • Diversity Hiring: While the context doesn't provide specific strategies for faking diversity, it's important to approach this ethically. Companies value genuine diversity and inclusion, and it's best to present your authentic self.
  • Interview Prep: Focus on mastering technical skills and behavioral questions. WSO offers various courses and bootcamps that can help you prepare for interviews, such as:
    • IB Interview Bootcamp: Covers technical and behavioral questions.
    • Private Equity Interview Bootcamp: Includes detailed LBO tests and case studies.

Nature of the Work

  • Aligning Logos in PPT:
    • Gridlines and Align Functions: Use gridlines (Alt+W+S) to snap objects to the same vertical/horizontal line. Align functions can be added to your Quick Access Toolbar (QAT) for easier use.
    • Other PPT Tips:
    • Use Ctrl+left click to select specific objects.
    • Use Ctrl+G / Shift+Ctrl+G to group/ungroup objects.
    • Use Ctrl+mouse wheel to zoom in and out.
    • Use Alt+J+P+I+S and click the white background to quickly change shape fill color using the eye dropper function.

Additional Resources

  • WSO Courses: There are various courses available that can help you improve your skills and knowledge in finance, such as:
    • Equity Interview Course
    • Private Equity Deals Process
    • Venture Capital Course
    • Modeling & Valuation Bootcamp
    • Private Equity Master Package
    • Venture Capital Master Package

Uhh mile PR is 5:59 that I hit 2 years ago but its probably not any better than 6:25 now, 5k I'd be happy to finish in under 22 minutes, and the marathon is not happening.

I'm a tennis player.

Oh ok you're sponsored by Asics for tennis or you just play recreationally?

I am sponsered for tennis, but I will probably end up dropping them soon. Have any new profile pic recommendations?

Oh ok cool. My Mom used to be sponsored by Prince for senior tennis. I was sponsored by Dunlop in youth tennis.

What haven't you done lol.

What was your peak rating? Always interesting to find other competitive players.

I stopped playing my junior year of HS. We didn't go by ratings then, but could probably beat 5.0 players. I played in one pro tournament qualifier. I largely got busy with life at age 17 and dropped tennis after that. Since then, I only played in a college intramural tourney and got 2nd. Also, I bet a friend $1000 that I could beat him in a set and lost. I got super rusty. My game is highly odd. I have a two handed forehand and a one handed backhand and can sprint to get back almost every shot, am called the 'backboard' by some. My serve is terrible. The transition from a HS junior tennis player to the 18-19 year old pro is dictated by his aggressive serve. I never got to that level.

What is your USTA rating equivalent?
