Are you satisfied with the state of world affairs as it is?
I was reading an article about some MBA students working on projects focused on social impact. The projects were focused on the usual span of issues – improved education, child labor, medical problems, etc – developing countries face. I started thinking though, are these initiatives enough to have an impact?
It’s all fine and dandy to hope for the best for the world, but it’s quite another to try and contribute to making the world better. That said, in areas like global (or even within the US/wherever you live) poverty, disease epidemics (not limited to just AIDS/HIV), wealth inequality, sufficient education, etc., do you all think the world is improving at an acceptable rate? What do you think we’ll be able to accomplish by the end of the mid-century?
I don't seek out news and my life's going great, so yes. Totally satisfied. A stock & subsequent real estate market crash would be nice for me but can't complain. Also, wealth inequality isn't a problem. It's just how life works.
