best keyboard?

i’m not a tech person at all but my work has BAD keyboards. like they just suck so i was thinking about getting one to replace it. others have brought in their own as well so i wouldn’t be seen as a hardo.

if anyone has good options for modeling that would be appropriate for office lmk! thanks

Based on the discussions on Wall Street Oasis, it seems that many people in the investment banking field have considered bringing their own keyboards to improve their work performance. However, there are differing opinions on this. Some users suggest that bringing your own keyboard, especially a mechanical one, might be seen as too loud or distracting in an office environment.

One user mentioned considering the Das Keyboard 4 Professional Cherry MX Brown, but another user advised against bringing your own keyboard as a Summer Analyst. Yet another user suggested Logitech models like the k840, as long as they don't have flashy lights or other distracting features.

Ultimately, the best keyboard for you would be one that helps you work best and is not disruptive in your office environment. It might be worth researching further or asking your colleagues for their recommendations.

At the office I bought a logitech 2 in 1 mouse and keyboard set. It was either $20 or $40. At home I have the keyboard that came attached to my macbook. Both work fine. I have never once thought about what keyboard I use.

I love the cheap Logitech 2-1. Have it in my real office and home office

I use a Leopold FC900R in all black with MX Silent Red switches (quieter) in my home office setup but as others have pointed out your keyboard doesn't matter that much. Just don't get one with a bunch of LEDs/loud switches/no numpad or a weird layout.

Logitech MX Mechanical Wireless + MX Master 3s Mouse. Without a doubt. Make sure you reprogram the mouse buttons as well, based on your day-to-day work.

I like the tactile quiet switches since they're not louder than a normal keyboard, but still have the responsiveness of a mechanical keyboard.

Nothing crazy:

  • Buttons under the thumb wheel: Move between excel pages
  • Gesture Button: Depending on direction of mouse movement, bring me to that part of the excel tab (i.e. cntrl + home, cntrl + end, etc.

Depends on your personal preference.

I chose mx keys and I don't have any problems so far.

As per mechanical keyboards.. there are just ton of choices and really depends on your specific taste. Be aware of the sound though.. Even silent reds are quite loud compared to normal keyboards.

If you're on a budget, a simple k120 should do the trick.

I use a GMMK full sized keyboard with Gateron Brown switches. I love the typing experience but it is much louder than my other mechanical keyboard with Gateron Optical Silver switches.
