Boeing Whistleblower
I'm generally very skeptical of anything that sounds like a conspiracy theory. I know media is very motivated to find the most salacious possible story and push it.
But this Boeing whistleblower situation sounds pretty bad:
-
He'd told family about plans to drive home that night after finishing his deposition, but was asked by Boeing to stay for one more day
-
Was killed that night
-
Had allegedly told several family members and friends that he's "not worried but if something happens to me it's not suicide"
All that being as suspicious as it is, I'm still inclined to say that it's been debunked which is why nobody in major media is chasing the story. But also . . if they were willing to bury the Epstein story then they'd certainly bury this.
Thoughts? Curious if anyone else finds the relative lack of curiousity to be odd.
hahahahahhahahaha completely demoralized and willing to swallow whatever the ministry of truth says
I mean, is that the overall tone of my post? One poorly worded sentence that I can't edit now? Thanks for the input Juice.
Been thinking about this one and it's quite unsettling.
Boeing is enormously influential and very intertwined with government. Ambassadors, secretaries of state and even presidents have lobbied on behalf of Boeing. They're the biggest beneficiary of EXIM Bank guarantees. Not even going to touch on the defense business. That's just the stuff I know about.
Not to say any of that implies corruption. Given Boeing's strategic importance, scale, and how many Americans they employ, it makes sense they get a lot of support. But also makes me think they would have the ability to do something like this (if they did). Or could just be a morbid coincidence. I really don't know what to think.
Very good point raised about their influence. This thread was taken down yesterday for reasons that WSO doesn't seem to want to specify, but I appreciate them for reviewing and putting it back up.
Just to clarify my post above a bit, since I can't edit the post itself. I didn't mean to sound as though I believe the whistleblower most likely killed himself. I worded one sentence poorly and made it sound as though I'm not skeptical of the suicide story. Hopefully the overall post is clear that I'm super skeptical of it.
In addition to the 3 points in the post, there's additional evidence that he was in good spirits about giving the testimony and how purposeful it was to him. So, the polar opposite of what we typically hear about the mindset of someone contemplating suicide.
It's an ugly topic on several levels and I understand if some people might think it is in bad taste to discuss it here. But it also seems quite important as far as business stories go. Certainly more so than the endless Fed navel-gazing that usually dominates the headlines.
Haven't looked into it a ton, so i don't know many details. Somewhat can believe it. To quote Charlie Munger "show me the incentives I'll show you the outcome".
Shutting down/killing whistleblowers helps a small group of people extremely financially, so I'm not saying it happened, just won't be shocked if foul play was involved. I'm sure corruptions have done simliar or worse things.
