career options for 45yr old excel vba programmer looking to change into finance

the title says it all. what can a 45yr old Excel VBA programmer do in finance?
In particular, if he doesn't want to be a VBA programmer anymore?
went to a non-target state school 20 years ago...3.3 GPA

worked in IT at a few BBs 8-15 years ago

Willing to do the random tech project here and there....but looking for more satisfying (and profitable) career options outside VBA.

Why focus on finance? Learning to code isn’t that hard or much different from VBA. I mean it is, but the basic principles are more or less the same. You should be able to pick up a few languages relatively easy for free. Why not go into that industry? It’s a lot more forgiving than IB/ finance in general. You’ll find a bit of age bias in some companies (Snap, Uber, FB) but Google (which is like the pinnacle) and LinkedIn are known for being accepting of late career changers.
