Coffee recommendations?

About to have another all-nighter.

At times like this, I've been keeping myself awake by drinking Death Wish Coffee:

As its name implies, this thing is realllllly strong.

Lately though, I feel like it may be a bit too much for me. I'm considering buying a bulk amount of coffee and gearing more towards flavors/brands that actually taste good.

Any recommendations? I know a lot of you here are avid coffee drinkers.

p.s. Starbucks doesn't count...

I mean, idk if they ship it, but if you're ever in Philadelphia, Elixr has fantastic fantastic coffee. Get their house blend - it's earthy, which sounds weird, but I can't explain it.

I have toyed around with a lot of brands...here is what I like/use:

Nespresso - capsules. maybe would be weird to have one at your desk? Philz - just great cup of coffee Costco Colombiano - good for brewing large batches Bizzy - cold brew I ordered online and was pleasantly surprised with the taste: http://www.bizzycoffee.com/

More importantly, I prefer ice coffee...so between the cold brew and Costco batches, I tend to have ~2-3 cups per day ...i also recently switched from milk to almond milk...actually not bad.

Almond milk is great. It doesn't dilute the taste of the coffee too much like milk does. You should also try coconut milk.

Consumption smoothing is retarded. If you stay in this game for a handful of years, money will be the least of your worries. Live it up, because this is the one time in your life where you might actually have time to spare.

Interesting Never thought of doing that, but does it taste good

I know this isn't what you're asking for, but if you're in need of a legal form of meth look no further than redline energy. Used to take it at 4 am during my crew days. My god it's some powerful stuff. You can pick it up at Walgreens for like 3 bucks a pop. Well worth it imo.

Their nitro latte is ridiculous as well.

Gotan by the Franklin St. 1 Train stop in TriBeCa is my go to.

For the Bostonians, Caffe Nero on Washington St has the best coffee, and they sell whole bean for you to make at home.

there are few things i love consuming more than a good f*cking cup of coffee in the morning.

sadly in BA exported coffee is overpriced and there are few options (most places serve the same shit espresso) but fancy coffee shops are slowly starting to catch on

back during my Seattle days, this was my favorite coffee shop, glad to see they're selling their stuff online! https://store.caffeladro.com/coffee-c31.aspx

Blue Bottle is simply the best (and strongest) coffee on earth. If you do not work/live near a location, Whole Foods sell prepackaged Blue Bottle. The cold brew is a good pick for the morning because of how strong it is. I tend to prefer the New Orleans in the afternoon.

Call me Strauss-Kahn but... I head to the maintenance floor of my Park Avenue office tower where I dip into the coffee that's been made in a pot on the stove, while getting dapped up by my building's lusty, Dominican BBW cleaning ladies

If you're into single origin pour over coffees, best flavor profiles are in the medium light roasts. 49th Parallel is one of the best beans I've had. Supersonic is supposed to be a top tier roaster as well. Intelligentsia and Lift Coffee Roasters are good too though I've read Lift Coffee changed management and so not sure if the original roast master is still there. Personally don't really care for Blue Bottle from the couple times I've tried their coffee. Philz is good but they're not for drinking coffee black. I've found a 13-14 grind setting on the baratza with a ~200F water temp (in the actual kettle) gives a pretty good flavor. Use a 16.6 to 1 ratio for ML water to grams beans.

Not sure if they still make it, but try to find something called Umpire Estates coffee. It is pricy but great. They have a way of roasting it that eliminates most of the bitterness.

Anyone ever tried taking a pre-workout supplement instead of coffee? I think they have anywhere from 2-4x the amount of caffeine as a standard cup. Just a thought.

As for coffee, check out a mailing service called Drift Away - you can sign up for monthly deliveries of whole beans from around the world based on your preferred flavor profile. Good stuff.
