I ditched my dual monitor and bought a curved widescreen. Make/Model is MSI MAG341 series. I fuckin love this thing, and I bought a license for displayfusion to help with window management. My friend uses his samsung 49" widescreen w/ displayfusion and he loves it too.

If going for one large screen instead of dual, my recommendation is to stick with the 21:9 aspect ratio.  Dell, Samsung and MSI all have products that I would consider buying.

Need to know a few things:

  • What's your budget? $150? $500?
  • What resolution do you need (1080p, 1440p, 4k, 8k)
  • What size do you prefer (22in, 24in, 27in, 32in+)
  • What refresh rate do you need (60hz is not bad, 100+hz is good, 144hz is near top of the line but you need a graphics card to be able to game at this level)
  • How much do you care about image quality and brightness? (TN displays typically faster but duller with weaker viewing angles, IPS displays more expensive)
  • Curved or flat (I have 2 flat, but others like the curved monitors)

For reference I have 2 HP Omen 27i monitors (27in 1440p 165hz IPS) but these are hooked up to a gaming PC. You couldn't push these displays through a normal laptop. My wife is pretty happy with 2x 24inch 1080p IPS monitors attached to her Thinkpad.

Be excellent to each other, and party on, dudes.

I forgot to mention, that my budget is certainly on the lower end. I have no problem upgrading in the future. Regarding resolution, 1080p is fine and a max size of 27in. Recently, I was recommended to get two monitors. I personally like the SAMSUNG 24" LS24R350FHNXZA. Any thoughts on this product?
