Do companies/sports organizations dictate the relationships of their top brass?

Saw today that Patrick "Pat" Mahomes announced that his gf is pregnant. He got engaged about a month ago, figure she's been pregnant longer than that.

Question is, do you think the NFL caught wind and basically made him get engaged?

I follow a lot of golf, knowing golf is viewed a little more different than football, I always think the PGA tour dictates to their players a little bit. Dustin Johnson, usually hovering around #1 in the world, has been engaged for 5 years to Paulina Gretzky, and they have two kids together.

Just makes me think about major companies, be it as it may, most are headed by men who have dedicated their lives to the company. Just playing the odds here, but do you think companies basically bar individuals from leading lives in a way that would reflect negative on the company?

True. Those examples are close to 20 and 15 years old though.

A lot has changed in the growth of social media.

And they have interest because it affects their product. Take golf, there will always be the hardcore fan, but if the #1 player isn't marketable, or is seen in a bad light, that affects the bottom line. Remember when the MLB was trying to make Mike Trout more marketable, and he didn't care/didn't do anything interesting. Pretty sure they weren't doing that just to get him more "likes" on IG.

Same with business.
