Do Investment Banking Youtubers have no hobbies?

I recently saw a bunch of Investment Banking Analyst youtube channels.

Do these guys have no hobbies? Analysts work 80 hours a week, the last thing you would want to do is talk about work, no?

These guys are hardos right? No other hobbies, they love to work, and in their free time, they set up a youtube channel to talk about their work.

Can't tell if you're being serious. To answer OP's question, their hobby is making $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

You sound bitter af. Some of them are kinda cringe but Bryan Jun as an example makes solid content in his spare time as a hobby. There's nothing wrong about liking your job lol

Lol what's the basis for that? His youtube channel is finance-focused yes but you have no idea what he talks about outside of work otherwise. Even if it were true that he enjoyed talking about finance outside of work, what's wrong with that? I feel like I'm missing a step here

There are plenty of SAs and analysts like that but without even monetizing it

Youtube channels like that can be helpful. No point bashing them for literally trying to provide useful information to people that might not have it. Not everyone is on WSO.

Everyone wants to hit the mergers and inquisitions jackpot - but make it video based ..that’s all I get form these guys. Seems like the finance YouTube channel is so formulated with no added personality, all the videos are:

-Day in the life -Explaining what my job is -How to get my job -How to be good at my job -What i May possibly do after this job, but only have the opportunity to do because of this job

Curious - what are your hobbies dude? Blacking out at Monkey Bar and ripping gator tails with your buddies until 5AM with a bunch of soft 6's? Then sleeping in all day? If you're like 99% of IB analysts that I know, this is probably the case. Sick man!

"Rage, rage against the dying of the light."

you would do it too if you knew how much a channel with like 100k subs pulls (hint, more than IB)

They certainly don't love it, that's why they're trying to build something by taking incremental steps. A few IB/S&T channels have grown into actual businesses.
