How does someone's mindset change so drastically from the transition from a poor college kid to a first year employee who thinks he is already a billionaire?

Lets say, you are poor but smart. You go to an Ivy League College. You eat ramen noodles most of the time (from Freshman Year to Senior Year) because you dont have a finance job salary(yet). Then you graduate college and get your FIRST JOB right out of school.

The few weeks/months between the transition from a poverty line college student to a first job. You think you are hot shit. You go to websites like this one and call people normal people "peasants" and make fun of them by acting like you are a obnoxious billionaire (when you only make less than $200k a year).

So can someone explain to me how a person can transition from a mindset of eating Ramen Noodles for the last 4 years into the mindset of King Joffrey from the Game of Thrones?(within a couple weeks/months)

The change happens quick and you’re living a very different life than you’ve ever known.

First, as a kid I would never ever ever dream about eating out every night and now I can with seamless. Off my base salary alone, I’m making more than my parents combined and they cannot fathom that I get paid this just out of college. With my penny pinching skills from growing up, I’ve got more money in my bank account than all of my friends combined. Finally, people around me feed into my ego. My parents love telling their family and friends their kid from the poor part of town in on Wall Street. Random people are now reaching out to me to talk to me. You make more money than almost any other kid out of college.

It hasn’t gotten to my head yet but honestly it’s so easy to see how it could.
