I'm a rising Sophomore at a semi-target (top 20). What should I be doing?

I don't want to waste this summer. I don't expect to have a BB internship this year or next year but there's got to be something I can do, right?

I've been using LinkedIn Learning courses to get some of the fundamentals of DCF, financial forecasting, and company valuation down. It's really basic, but at least it's something. Also I took an excel course and got some certification from LinkedIn.

I had planned on going to Spain and study the language at a language academy, but that doesn't seem possible now.

I have ZERO work experience and I'm not part of any business related clubs.

Is there anything I could do to make getting some kind of internship next summer easier, or something that will look good on my resume?

Excellent question. The answer is that it depends.

Do you have any personal/family connections? Maybe reach out to them and ask if they have anything you could do at the office.

Are you near a majorish city? If so, you could send out a shit ton of cold emails and see if anything good comes out of them.

Honestly, it’s probably looking bleak. It’s a little late to look for internships, especially with Covid.
