if you need hair to pull then life is going to be very hard for you my friend, because eventually you will begin losing your hair or if you take finasteride and keep the hair but still pull ass, you may not be able to perform because of said finasteride (nature has a funny way of laughing in the face of those who try to flaunt her). personally, I don't care about length of hair so long as it is presentable to a client. if it's not, no dice. if you're curious, this guy isn't presentable to a client. if he trimmed and styled it, potentially, hard to say

though with the bro in this picture I'm most concerned about the jewelry, nail polish, and open mouth breathing

Hair is life but I doubt I’ll have a problem my dad has a full head of hair and no one on my moms side is balding. I’m still nw0 luckily. I don’t have and tats or nail polish because but I do have chains but I can take those off.

I will do anything to be presentable as long as I don’t have to cut hair

I disagree with the brofessor here a bit. yes, if you use oral finasteride it can lead to ED. That's why I use topical. Certain studies say topical is similarly effective while others say it's a bit less effective..either way a tradeoff I'm happy to make to keep my schlong working

But completely agree w/ the brofessor that the dude above will never make it in finance, he is not presentable. Keep the hair until your first finance interview and then cut it.

Bro,  I really love your comment, but some of us are just naturally lucky.  I'm sitting on a ticking cancer time bomb, but I'm going to have great hair until the chemo.

Personally. I have a very slightly professionally edgy hairstyle.  It's a "I could do more, but I may have weekend plans after I tell you about these coupe VWAPs I saw on the terminal, but you should talk to your client about setting up a few ISGRATs."

When I get asked about this, I say that if you have a hairstyle that says something, you better be able to back it up in spades.  Bill Dauge at Nasdaq is my easy example.  He's a white guy with dreads, but always wears a suit and knows his game. (he's head of alt. data)

The only difference between Asset Management and Investment Research is assets. I generally see somebody I know on TV on Bloomberg/CNBC etc. once or twice a week. This sounds cool, until I remind myself that I see somebody I know on ESPN five days a week.

I take finasteride and it's has no side effects it affects like 1% of ppl don't fear monger

Alright it must be said that not everyone loses his hair. I'm 28, spent the past half decade in IB / Corp dev and I still have a full head of hair.

Actually I think the hair could be okay. The jewelry, piercings, makeup, tattoos and nailpolish is a bit much, but the hair I think you could get away with if you were good at your job.

Thanks. Thats not me, I just have hair like him, I don’t have any visible tats or earrings

You could have said it wasn't you earlier. You said you had hair like this, as if you were referring to a phase of your life.

Once you mature you won’t want that hair. I had a Puerto Rican line me up with a high fade in college. 6 months into my first job and I was rocking the finance bro haircut. This is what I rock now.

The issue with the hair in this photo is that it looks like the person just rolled out of bed.  This is not the way to go to interviews or as a look for the office.  I can relate to the strong attachment to hair and I have written about in related topics many times here but your hair can look good when it is short.  Cut the hair, go to the gym and wear nice clothes and you can get your share of the females.  You do not need to do anything yet, but I would not go on any serious interviews with hair similar to the photo.

OP would you be open to gelling it? You could do a mean Don Corleone in the flashback scenes slickback.

Dear god no - it looks messy and unkempt. Know it’s on purpose but finance requires polish and neatness unfortunately for you. It’s no big deal and you’ll hopefully still feel good and confident without the broccoli hair but yeah not going to fly. This industry is very “conformist” so having visible style that doesn’t make sense in the broader group you’re in will not work.
