Laptop Suggestion for First-Time GE Fund Under $1K?
Joining a first-time GE fund in the coming week and they gave me a laptop budget of ~$1K. In the past, I’ve always had a work desktop that I would remote into.
This is a true growth equity fund (AKA not growth buyout and more like VC), so I would imagine the modeling is less intense than what I’ve done in the past. In this scenario, is 16 gigs of RAM enough? I didn’t realize how little the $1K is in terms of laptop buying power, and because I’m expecting to travel often, I am wondering if I should prioritize keyboard, portability and battery life over the horsepower?
I am eyeing the E/L/T14s of Lenovo’s ThinkPad line, which are going for around $900 (last generation). Any other thoughts? Considered a Surface laptop (too expensive) and a XPS 13 (too expensive) also.
Tight budget. Maybe an Asus Vivobook or Lenovo Yoga on sale?
ThinkBook has a professional version of the Legion Slim 7 chassis without the GPU for under $1000.
Helpful, thanks! Any thoughts on 16 vs 32 gigs RAM?
P16s gen2 AMD. 16gb should be fine.
