If you are uncomfortable with CEO / President, how about Owner, Principal, Director or even Founder?
If you have a LinkedIn Premium account, and have access to Sales Navigator, you can use the search feature there to suggest more titles.
Director or Principal seem the least "douchey", if you're worried about that sort of thing.
I like founder personally
In my opinion the Founder or Director it is a viable option. But I wish you to develop the company and then don't hesitate to write the PRESIDENT
If it is prof. services, always go with "Managing Partner"
You could always go with something vague and pompous, like "Leader | Thinker | Visionary" if you want people to think you love the smell of your own farts.
(seen it done, folks, seen it done)
Definitely "Founder" - it exudes silicon valley sex appeal.
all depends on what kind of job you are looking to get. if you are trying to get an entry level analyst job, then you don't want to put President/CEO/Managing Director (because why would you take such a step down??). So, in the case where you are trying to get an entry level role, i would focus on the actual work rather than title...and then create a title that reflects the work done...but could appear to have been an employee.
