Loosing hope, am I a bitch or do I need reset expectations?

I was laid off in early December of 2023 during large RIF and now we are in March 2024.
I come from a non-target university with a non-traditional background. I eventually made it to a top 5 Turnaround & Restructuring shop with a small IB team where I sat as an analyst 2.
Initially recruiting for IB, Private Credit and Turnaround RX Advisory (Consulting) roles with some traction but beat out time and time again. I have networked with probably around 100 people, and applied to over 200 roles. I'm now applying to corp FP&A roles and even took a valuation phone screen recently.
My questions is: was I just a bubble hire and should I lower my expectations?
My life is sucks and all I do is gym, recruit, maybe see some friends on the weekends. I know the market sucks, but not sure how long I can do this for. I have the runway to sustain my stupid NYC rent, but the mental tole I think is more taxing.
Any and all advice is welcome, please tell me if I'm just being a bitch and this market sucks OR if I suck lol.

Getting laid off in December is a bad deal as it is pretty slow from Thanksgiving to New Years. I think you could step up your applications a bit and also you might consider applying to an MBA program just as an option if your job search doesn't work out and leave you hanging with nothing.

This is helpful. I think I might try to move my focus to an MBA at this point.

I have heard that its tough to apply to a program without a job, so somewhat of a Catch 22. I can definitely study and take the GMAT in my free time but worried applying while unemployed will hurt my application.
