Million Dollar Traders (Documentary)
Hedge Fund Manager and author Lex Van Dam puts together a small Hedge Fund full of people with zero trading experience and zero finance experience. Gives them access to an allotted amount of his money and tells them to invest.
Pretty interesting.

Lex Van Dam sounds like a porn name. Just sayin'.
Wait until video three.
It's funny, because it's a great concept for a TV show. Not so much for a trading floor.
He doesn't put them in with his real fund or real traders, he literally rents a small space, puts one of his employees in charge of them to watch them and gives each of them a bloomberg terminal.
My favorite part is where Simon goes to sell 800 shares of a stock, accidentally ends up buying 800 shares, then has to sell 1600 shares and literally within 15 seconds, the stock drops and he loses 200 pounds simply for being a dumbass.
LOL. You see? That's just good TV.
HAHAHA that was my favorite scene...reminded me of myself :'(
damn wish you posted this last night so i could have watched it. Now I have to wait 10 more hours til i can watch.
Each episode is an hour long
I saw this a few months back. I used to chuckle when I heard Lex's supervisor say "lets make mun-e." The show is pretty entertaining but don't watch with the expectation that you will glean any insight into the world of trading. I think Lex used the show to generate interest in some online trading courses for average Joes or something.
Ya, I believe he started some sort of academy for trading.

From $800 down to $200 for his trading course. Second tab on the page is about his commitment to integrity and ethics. Sounds like his course isn't moving.
Interesting to watch, but the trades are very small...
Caroline's ethical issues on shorting shares seems so odd to me.
Groupon had a deal for Lex's academy. 29$ for all five video courses a while back.
Super entertaining documentary/mini-series haha. Are there any other documentary/shows that are like this?
I'm new to this, but on the show he seemed to get overly emotional over small losses. I thought as a trader you're supposed to take losses in stride.
