ONLY THESE BANKS OR YOU STRUCK OUT

Sorry the only banks to land are the below.

Success all around: GS / MS / JPM / Q / EVR / CVP / PJT / MOE / PWP / LAZ / BofA / Citi / Barclays

Success, but while the school club hardo might know, not a single family member, girl, or 99% of your friends will know, and will think you struck out, while you’re earning top of street pay at your completely unknown niche ass boutique: Dyal / MKlein / Ducera / AECA / Ardea / Tidal

Doable…: Gugg / Roths / Jeff / HL

Rest ur fucked sorry

I did my analyst program at one of those top banks you mentioned. This is a really immature take that shows you don’t understand how the industry really works. While you’re correct that those are objectively the “best” banks that you should target while in undergrad, there are many paths to success and a great career on Wall Street. I know a lot of people who started at one of the banks you mentioned and flamed out within a year, as well as people who lateraled from “worse” banks and firms into top groups within a year of graduation. I’ve also seen people in top groups get crowded out, while people in “worse” places developed their own swim lane and found a niche they can build in long-term. What you realize eventually is that success isn’t just a brand, bank, or linear path, it’s developed from your personal effort and results over time. Hopefully you realize this too and understand that it’s better to take the high road and remain humble rather than punching down for no reason.

Prospect in IB-M&A

Adding HL before DB is crazy to me considering what I've seen in exits.

Obligatory DB not a BB

Jamie Dimon started his career in Bank One. Good to know his career is fucked I guess.

this is easily incorrect.

You are missing AllenCo, Liontree in tier 2.

I would definitely include WF at least in Doable. It has grown much faster in GUGG/Roths/Jeff/HL. You can argue its less prestigious historically, but their strides are impressive. Still would include DB and UBS (even it gets so much hate) on Doable at least too.

Just my unbiased 2 cents. Work at one of the top BBs cov/mna too.

I barely comment on here, but you’re such a dork. How are you people real lol nobody gaf

My friends at other MMs/LMMs with their high deal flow and high pay with relatively chiller hours/colleagues/culture beg to differ lol

lay people will swoon over credit risk analysts in houston just because they work for JPM. none of this shit matters…

I know this is a rage-bait thread, but honestly, I had never heard of AECA until I re-downloaded WSO about a month ago. Isn’t it just a standard MM shop focused on PE-backed deals? It also looks like the founders came from LMM IB firms. Other than the pay, is there anything that really sets AECA apart like other firms you listed?

ik this post is bait but ill bite since there are people who think like this. at one of the so called success banks but if you actually think like this youre a fucking loser. money is money bro...prestige whoring is so cringe. there are like 3 things that matter...how much you make, who you marry, and looking good
