Patrick - How about a WSO board for business/trading investment ideas?
With all these bankers and private equity guys experience - why not use the collective experience of this community to crowd source investment ideas (public and private) and potentially create a crowdsource investment vehicle (for the private ideas).
obviously, if the fund/bank you work at decides to buy/invest in/restructure a company, you wouldn't post about it here for conflict of interest reasons....but if you came across an investment opportunity that your firm passes on (for whatever reason) but you still think it would be a good investment....why not share that idea with the WSO Fund...and allow the collective community to do some due diligence...and perhaps make the investment themselves? I believe new laws regarding crowd funding make this legal now?
I think Joel Greenblatt's Value Investors Club does something like this, though it seems to be oriented towards research on public companies. Not sure what their reputation is like either.
It exists, but there are no links to it and it’s not on the shortcut menu.

Probably a good call. But wrong in this case. Long $BERY.
I remember trading this name, got in at 51 and sold it at 64.
