Societal change due to AI?

Many of the threads on this forum regarding the advent of AI in our world have focused on some flavor of "Will my role XYZ at BB be replaced?" or "How will my entry level analyst tasks be impacted by GPT/AI?"

I'd like to pose a broader question for the forum to ponder. How do you see society being restructured due to this technological sea change: social, economic, political, etc.

From what I have read it appears that the current manifestation of this technology is unprecedented and is likely to reorganize the way humans interact and synthesize information similar to how the printing press ushered in a new era of engagement with information.

I found this article from Harvard on AI's history helpful: https://sitn.hms.harvard.edu/flash/2017/history-a…
