My boss says GD and JC in Zoom meetings when he gets really pissed and it drives me CRAZY. Why can't people just say f** and sh**......

Interesting point to bring up, can offer some personal experience here.

I've cut out GD from my vocal library entirely, although over text sometimes it's a habit. I honestly never really considered the true offensive nature it could pose to someone, and while I don't classify it as a 'slur' it certainly isn't needed. If you've ever met an Italian, you know about every fourth word is an f-bomb and that's how I was raised. The cursing comes out a lot more in casual conversation, but I've been trying to taper it down if possible. When you go nearly 32 whole years with swearing just being a part of how you were brought up, it's hard to quit. I am trying, though!

I also find that the impact of the word has a lot more value when it's used with less frequency. If there's a guy who says "fuck" ALL the time when he gets mad and says the word then it doesn't mean as much. Contrast that with the sweet young guy who has never said a curse word around you before... if he got REALLY mad and started dropping bombs then I bet you'd listen. Food for thought.

Anyways. Have removed GD from my vocabulary, trying to work on JC next. It's really just a subconscious habit.

I am trying to dial it back until I don't swear at all - people seem much smarter when they don't have to swear. Just gonna be a good preppy person in nyc and stay out of trouble

One of my old Jewish coworkers, close to retirement, really great and interesting guy, swears a lot, but never in important meetings.

I don't give a sh*t what anyone else thinks, but personally, I fking love a well-placed swear word. It's like adding a little spice to an otherwise bland existence. Plus, it shows that you're passionate about what you're saying. Just don't overdo it or you might come off as a complete ahole
