The best piece of advice I’ve ever read on this forum.

During the super day in which I got my first offer post graduation, I had the impression I bombed the first couple rounds and started spiraling.

Unironically, I thought about this forum and could only recall the advice about taking a shit in the office.

I excused myself between interviews and took a solid dump, and I immediately saw an improvement in my headspace and performance. It was pretty surreal. I am actually inclined to believe I entered the flow state for the first time in an interview setting.

Whoever wrote that post, god bless you.

Based on the most memorable WSO threads, the advice about "taking a shit in the office" before or during an interview has become a legendary piece of unconventional wisdom. The idea is that by doing something as primal and grounding as using the restroom, you subconsciously reclaim a sense of control and comfort in an otherwise high-pressure, foreign environment. This shift in mindset can help you relax, feel more at ease, and ultimately perform better.

Your experience aligns perfectly with the essence of that advice—resetting your mental state and regaining confidence. It's a quirky yet effective reminder that sometimes the simplest actions can have a profound impact on performance. Whoever shared that gem of wisdom truly left a lasting legacy on the forum!
