The Biggest Mistakes I Made When Taking Out My First Bad Credit Loan

Looking back at my first bad credit loans experience, I made several costly mistakes that others can avoid. My biggest error was not reading the full loan agreement before signing. I focused only on the monthly payment amount and missed important details about prepayment penalties and late fees.

Second mistake was borrowing more than I actually needed because the lender approved a higher amount. I thought extra money was smart, but it just meant paying unnecessary interest. Third, I didn't shop around enough.

The first approval felt like a victory, so I accepted immediately without comparing other lenders. I later found I could have saved 5 percent on interest elsewhere. Fourth mistake was not having a clear repayment plan.

I assumed I'd figure it out monthly, which led to occasional late payments. Finally, I didn't ask questions when confused about terms. Lenders expect questions, and clarity prevents problems later. Learning from these mistakes helped me handle my second loan much better.
