EDIT: To more adequately address your statement, this is getting coverage because of her physical appearance. She and Brian were very active on social media and were taking photographs in picturesque settings in the American West. It's Instagram influencer gone wrong. Over 500K people were added to the FBI's NCIC Missing Persons files in 2020, so there clearly can't be a spotlight on all of them. The picture we get is not necessarily representative of the real underlying demographics of the people who actually go missing.

There are plenty of poor attractive girls who are trafficked and disappear from society and end up as little more than a single photo on a Wal Mart billboard. This is a case of the media deflecting your attention from the reality by only portraying one girl missing (so you make this post thinking she is the ONLY attractive girl who has gone missing). It's not a liberal or conservative thing, it's a you're incredibly sheltered and need to get outside your Greenwich bubble sort of thing.
Notorious serial killer Sam Little killed 93 women and only got caught a year or two ago: he targeted drug addicts, hookers, hippies, and people with no families in the picture in different cities across the US
