Perks of working for a European company, we can expense basically whatever we want as long as it’s somewhat related to work. Uber because we worked late? Expensed. Nice dinner organised by the VP to celebrate a bjg deal? Expensed. Heck, two months ago I was on a mission in another country and urgently needed some new shoes before a meeting with a partner (long story) and my VP told me to just expense them, since we were travelling. Maybe it’s my VP being super chill and not giving a fuck, but he always greenlights our expenses without really checking, as long as it’s not outrageously expensive, and HR doesn’t bat an eye.

Ate like a king in a non-NY/LA/SF city on $20 as an analyst a few years ago.  $30 now in NYC and not enough.

I come from down in the valley, where mister when you're young, they bring you up to do like your daddy done
