Thoughts on bringing food to interview?
Current rising sophomore at semi-target, have been networking with a good bit of professionals at various BBs and one EB. Most certainly, especially from a non/semi target you have to find some way to stand out, I was legitimately thinking of ordering Chick Fil A catering for the entire office as a way to stand out and make sure my name is recognized, it would be expensive but I see it as a low risk high reward, the opportunity cost of not doing it could be a factor of the possibility of not getting an offer. I will need to do well in the interview, master my behavioral and technical questions while still getting people to vouch for me - is this a bad idea? I can certainly tell if someone did that for me, as a recruiter, I'd hire them on the spot. What do you guys think?
Don’t
What he said ^
Brilliant. I'd actually recommend getting a full spread from Popeyes, Raising Canes, Five Guys, KeyBank, Taco Bell, and other fast-food restaurants. Guaranteed offer
Most creative keybank slander ive ever seen
This is actually a huge risk. Most people will view this as weird and desperate
This is bait obviously but at least it’s unique
have you considered jerking off on the interview to stand out?
it's cheaper and will accomplish the same goal
Was actually about to suggest gooning, great call
😂😂😂
Spicy chicken + waffle fries for me, thx
All it comes across as is you’re really desperate AND so privileged that it’s something you can afford AND have no social cues. It’s like a summer intern insisting to pay for an MDs coffee. If you do this you deserve to get rejected tbh
Don’t you dare do this. Put urself in the mindset that you are a target. You need to make yourself and interviewers believe you are no different than anyone else interviewing. It will come off as a lack of confidence and that is when respect is gone.
Plus points for creativity. However, I wonder how people feel in when they receive gifts with strings kind of attached?
Personally, I don't like the feeling of owing someone a favor. I think the better move is to invest time into your pre-existing relationships and build rapport organically over time by being consistent, likeable, and prepared (as you probably are already doing).
Then again I'm just a M&A intern and not a banker, so maybe I'm not the right person to comment on this.
Good luck!!
