Thoughts on those paid instagram influencer hustler programs?
came across the bulldogmindset group on instagram, ran by a guy called john sonmez, a multimillionaire social media and real estate guru.
The program is pretty much the same as the andrew tate program, they even have similar slogans, bulldogs is "escape the rat race" vs andrew tate's "escape the matrix".
I was curious so thought I'd sign up and I had an initial interview with one of the bulldog's group team members who ran though some q&a etc.. Basically, the programme's goal is to mentor you in starting a side hustle that can generate additional income. It lasts 6 months and comprises a 1 hour weekly call to help you plan and execute your side hustle business. So you have 24 meetings in total.
The caveat.. it costs $4,000 to join the membership. I almost choked I did not expect it to be that much. I questioned the price and the guy said it's worth it because they help you launch a side hustle that can generate that back every month. Not sure I believe that but I must admit, I am very curious.
Now personally I do want to join, to see if this is something that is genuine and can lead to results or if it is just another one of the typical ponzi groups naive people fall for, throwing away their savings to a random dude on the internet so I don't know if I'm just being a dumb idiot falling for this scheme?
What's everyone's thoughts on these type of programs? Has anyone had any experience with them?
My plan is better, and cheaper at $2,500. Shoot me a PM
Mine is 2,400 and way better than either of the other two - PM me
Some investments could make more sense to purchase than others. A simple example of one could be like:
Installing a self-checkout machine for a store to save money from having to pay cashiers, and allows staff to focus on other store needs etc. Likely a quantifiable benefit that can be justified.
Purchasing guru training courses may not be as quantifiable, and you need to do your own homework on that
100% NOT worth it, please do not even consider purchasing anything like that. I’ve started a side hustle on a marketplace platform using only YouTube at first. Almost everything about side hustles can be easily found online on YouTube or written in an article. All these courses are recycled garbage info from the free stuff online, and most are misleading if not completely wrong and could land you into a lot of debt. Would tbh just look at Alex Hormozi’s 2 books $100m Offers and $100m Leads, and just look at YouTube for some other ideas, taking things with a grain of salt. Look at Biaheza for dropshipping, and AmazonLit for Amazon FBA
I sometimes wonder the same about SAT/ACT prep courses or tutors. Supposed gurus that are expensive, but unsure if students can improve on their score by attending a program.
Snake Oil Salesmen
It's hard to call these things a "scam" per say because they aren't really scamming you out of anything, you are getting what you pay for. Problem is its very unethical as you pay a ton of money for information which you can easily find online yourself.
I'm always skeptical about those courses. If I want to learn a skill I must have searched through YouTube and the internet for free information. This does not negate the fact that in some cases paying for a course may be beneficial.
In general, I’ve found some courses to be more helpful than others. It really depends on the specific program, the circumstances and what you can potentially benefit vs the cost of program.
I enrolled in the WSO modeling and interview prep courses. I’ve found these to be helpful in improving my understanding of the industry, financial modeling skills and interview prep for IB and PE. I thought the return on investment was worth it for me personally; but maybe others may have different experiences.
I’ve also enrolled in some other modeling courses, but found them to be boring and less helpful/relevant to my job
The real hustle is in getting you to pay $4K.
There are so many people offering advice for free on side hustles on YouTube / TikTok etc. save yourself the money and research yourself.
I’m also highly skeptical when these people say they’re multi millionaires. Watches can be faked and Lambos rented lol
This is just like the gold rush. Who got rich during the gold rush, not the people panning for gold, it was the people who were selling the shovels.
Basically, if this guy knew how to find businesses that could generate $4k per month, why would he selling you that when he could go do it himself. Meaning, why wouldn't he just find 100 businesses that can do that, make $400k a month, pay others to run it, and take his cut and go to the beach?
Most of these programs get followers because its meant for people who are uneducated or lazy. Uneducated in that they don't know how to do it on their own and think they can get the information that no one else has when you can problem get it for free, or lazy because no one wants to work for it.
That’s an interesting point you bring up. This sounds like the concept of financial modeling courses too in a way. A guy running finance courses could either sell financial training courses to companies, and/or sell modeling/interview courses to individuals like wso does, create books, guides, web tutorials, consultations etc. it would be most optimal for someone to sell to all sorts of buyers
Selling financial training to companies must be great. Large bulk purchase for hundreds of employees. Guessing uni students would be more inclined to purchase interview/modeling guides in that they’re more useful than classroom instruction. A 4.0 student who doesn’t know about these finance interview courses probably doesn’t get offers into IB
True, but I don't really know if there is a huge business of selling models to companies.
That would be similar to someone saying "I can show you how to make a business selling models to companies. It cost $5k, but you can make that back in a month". Why not training your own people and everyone trained can sell multiple models, but you take a cut?
If you don’t know how to do something on your own, wouldn’t it be good to have some form of guidance? Either through courses, books, online learning etc?
Yes, having guidance or a mentor is always great. That doesn't sound like this though. It's just another version of "buy my course on investing and I'll show you how to make money." If its that simple for a course, why sell the course? Why not leverage up, make the investments yourself if they make money, and with the scale easily make your own money.
Cost a lot to train people in these courses, you need the trainers, marketing materials and to make sure people are doing it correctly, would be easier to do it yourself.
