Umass Isenberg or UMD Robert H Smith?

I am currently a senior and am looking to major in finance and minor in accounting. I am in-state for Umass, but because I am so close to campus, I do not want to attend unless it is by far the most logical choice. I'm wondering if UMD's business school is better for finance positions in any way because it would be about 45k more expensive in total. i would most likely be happier here, but if it wouldn't put me in a better position career-wise, then I would not be as interested.

I have three former roommates who went to Umass, and all are Directors or Partners with equity in both public accounting and Lifeco. All in Boston or the surrounding area. I think both have relatively strong alumni groups and same-level academics, so dependent on wanting to stay in the NE vs Mid-Atlantic,; I'd take the cost into play the most. That being said, there do seem to be a lot of comptroller positions in Philly/DC/Balt area vs straight-up public accounting in Boston. So if the money isn't the main driver, it be location and pathway.

Well, coming from a State school myself, I found it hard going out of the region as State schools have a larger alumni base in their region. Both are good schools and known, but in a tough job market it's about what can open a conversation. When I worked in Boston I didn't know many people from UMD maybe one or two guys in NYC on desks. In Bos I knew plenty of people from all the Umass schools other than Lowell. Now in Philly and DC I know a ton of UMD and UVA alumni. Unless you are going ivy league seems to be regional for those alumni connections and who shows up at the school for talks and what not.
